Riding Facilities

At Burley Lodge Equestrian Centre we train all of our riders, from beginners to advanced competitors, in the traditions of classical horsemanship. We believe that dressage (or flat-work) training is the foundation of your riding and will allow you to progress in all disciplines including jumping and cross-country

Cross- Country
Flatwork
Our cross-country course is spread over 60 acres and our range of fences vary in height to include; banks, ditches, water jumps, coffins, sunken roads and steps.

We also enjoy utilising our cross-country course for our
annual autumn trials.  We welcome both our internal and external clients to this competition

Our floodlit indoor school is ideal for private lessons, lunge lessons and provides a safe, enclosed area for beginners to learn to ride and for family to watch.

As well as encouraging our students and clients to compete to a high standard in external competitions, at Burley Lodge our 40mx20m dressage arena provides opportunities for all ages to enter our dressage competitions.

We also have access to an all weather floodlit outdoor arena suitable for flatwork, show-jumping and cross-country.

Burley Lodge offers gentle hacking around the 180 acre Estate and local lanes, an ideal way to extend a lesson, make your corporate team-building day stand out, or for a children’s party.

The grounds include a canter track which is suitable for interval training if you are preparing for a big competition or want to increase your horse’s fitness.
